Founded in 1930, Cobham Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union club who play in the London Division of the RFU. Cobham RFC is part of the Cobham Sports Association, a 2,000 strong member club embracing Rugby, Tennis, Lacrosse and Netball, set to be the biggest privately run sports club in Surrey.
Located in the village of Cobham, Surrey, Cobham RFC is based at the Old Surbitonians Memorial Ground, a facility that now boasts 6 pitches and a recently completed clubhouse.
In 2019, S&C Slatter was selected to build a brand new artificial grass pitch (AGP) for the club. After undertaking the initial excavation and groundworks, pitch drainage was implemented and a stone base was laid. This was followed by the installation of an in-situ rubber shock pad and FieldTurf XM6 artificial turf. The project was completed with fencing, pathways and rugby sports equipment supplied.
The pitch was officially opened on Friday 6th September 2019, and will not only benefit the club. Cobham Free School and Cobham Rugby Sports Association collaborated on the development of the artificial grass pitch, with the school’s pupils set to benefit from the facility in term-time, with the club and other sporting associations utilising the pitch at all other times.
