Work to convert the natural grass pitch at Eastbourne Borough’s Priory Lane stadium to 3G football turf started early in May 2016 and was completed by mid-July ready for the club’s new season in the National League South.
The FIFA 2-Star Performance Standard artifcial pitch has a premium 42mm Vertex RGF 3G football turf manufactured by FieldTurf. Underneath the surface is an in-situ bound e-layer performance base installed over a fully engineered sub-base. In addition to the construction works and surfacing installation, S&C Slatter provided all the pitch sports equipment and pitch maintenance machinery.
The new pitch facility has enabled Eastbourne Borough to expand its already successful academy and development centre programmes and secure a long term agreement with national 5 and 6 a side league operator Soccersixes.
